INTRODUCTION
Technology has become a turning point in education due to the great impact it is causing in many different ways. Educators are integrating and innovating their classrooms by using technological tools and methodologies that are generating high quality result students. Many years ago this wasn't possible and students had to learn through mechanical classes that at the end did not provide the expected results. Now with technology, students are developing and creating knowledge applying sources and tools that are easy to get and to use.
Social media has also changed education, students are sharing their experiences at a fingertip and are learning even more with their own devices than in schools. Our challenge now as educators is to guide them and make them techno-literate.
Another change in education is the role of teachers and students. Thanks to technology classroom are now student-centered and no longer teacher-centered. This is greatly helping students because they are the ones acquiring new content and skills not teachers anymore. In the past, education was focused on listening to long lectures or lessons where students had no right to share ideas or give opinions. It was the teacher the only one who "knew" everything. Today, instruction is focused on students. They can make mistakes and learn through them, they can interact with the teacher and mostly important they can share and give their points of view.
For these reasons, technology allows us to do many different things and we as educators must use it to foster positive changes in our students. We must be opened to all changes technology is generating.
